Frequentis completes first virtual SAT with Norwegian public safety agencies
Frequentis has announced the completion of the first virtual site acceptance test, in collaboration with the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection.
The test was performed by a team situated 'virtually' in five different countries, with the test system located in Norway itself. Audio communication with Frequentis was provided via web-based platforms, technology which used across the entire testing process. A remote system expansion incorporating six VoIP operator working positions was also carried out, with the country's control rooms currently receiving three times the usual number of calls due to COVID-19.
Speaking of the SAT initiative, Frequentis CEO Norbert Haslacher said: “We are delighted to serve our Norwegian customers with our highly resilient control room solution, and services that fully utilise the capabilities of Nødnett. We have been working together for more than 15 years, supporting agency cross-collaboration throughout Norway."
